The range presented includes drive or head, tail, snub, bend, take-up and rubber-lagged pulley configurations. The names describe duties or surface features; for example, a drive pulley may also be rubber-lagged. Final selection depends on the conveyor design.
A drive pulley transmits torque to the belt through its drive arrangement. A tail pulley is positioned at the tail end of the conveyor. Dimensions, construction and bearing arrangements depend on the belt forces and the installation.
Selection should consider belt construction, minimum permitted bending diameter, belt width, tension, speed, wrap angle and tracking requirements. Provide the belt data and conveyor drawing so dimensions can be reviewed for the application.
Rubber lagging may be selected to suit traction, wear and operating conditions. Compound, thickness, pattern and bonding method require application review. Lagging alone does not correct every cause of belt slip or tracking problems.
